On this
page I used to post a list of projects I had worked on in the previous year.
I'll update the CV
page soon but you can search
by market there. It's accurate up to mid 2007. In 2007 I worked
on 29 ad hoc projects and 2 retainer contracts with 18 clients 8 of whom I worked with for the first time - the rest was repeat business. Which I'll admit is a lot but it
goes right across comms planning, research, training and facilitation. This year the balanced tippped towards training - I ran 10 training courses of various kinds covering everything from marketing, account planning and research. There was even one on brainstorms. 8 research projects covering advertising, and direct marketing covering grocery, holidays, entertainment, utilities, finance, education . About half were for agency pitches. I ran a number of workshops for a range of different businesses and situations covering NPD, brand development and internal communications. And chugging along were a number of projects involving communications planning. It has become evident that often I am called in because the client is looking for fresh thinking.

In 2007 I also spent a lot of time thinking about how the internet is impacting and evolving research. I went to 2 courses and 3 conferences no less which were aboutweb 2.0 one way or another. So if this is an area you're curious about call me - I can probably shed some light. In 2008 I have been running training courses in the area of online research.
2008 is also the 40th anniversary of account planning which is a suitable occasion for reflection about where the whole discipline is headed. I'll be doing some writing about that too. Mike Imms and I will be carrying on developing our contribution on how to mine insights more effectively. We've run 1 course on the topic and have another scheduled for June.
